The concept is that you can choose to use the tablet as a tablet, ie… write on the screen by swivelling the screen around. Also it lets you use it as a laptop but also switching the keyboard for a large touchpad.

It was created by Victor Bivol and was designed for designers so they can use a large tablet for using software such as Photoshop. This means that no Wacom tablet is needed as it has one built in.

Although very strange I guess it will work for some if it is ever created although surely users with a tablet PC can just use the screen as a “wacom style” device.

The watch, as well as telling the time, allows you to track your location, acts as a data logger, photo tagger and a receiver.

The GPS watch can be used for tracking your car by the push of a button. It works by using intelligent LED’s that point you in the right direction back to your car or any other point of interest that you may have logged.

When you are walking back to your car the 360 degree directional lights on the watch will tell you which direction you should be walking. And then when you come within 50 meters of the saved location, the arrows around the watch face will begin flashing, and when you are within 15 meters the arrows will turn blue. This smart function is great for anyone who needs help finding his way back to their car or hotel. Don’t let a massive sea of cars get you lost when your trying to find your car after watching a live football game at a stadium.

The next function is to use the GPS as a data logger that lets you record GPS data stored on a trip. The recording features tracks your position, speed and altitude. When arriving home you can connect the watch to your computer via USB to transfer the data. Using the iTravel Data Logger software package you can then export that information to services such as Google Earth or Google Maps.

The next system is the geotagging feature that allows you to use the watch to add location information to pictures you have captured on your camera.

GPS Watch Features

    * Photo Tagger
* Location Finder (POI)
* Ultra portable GPS unit embedded in watch
* Data Logger (Records location, speed and altitude)
* View your paths on Google Maps or Google Earth

A Flickr user named cnflikt decided to create his own macro lens to his phone to capture some decent close-up shots.

To create the DIY macro lens cnflikt used a focusing lens from an old DVD player and then mounted the said lens to a cardboard cut-out. Once created the lens was attached to a Sony Ericsson K800i and then was ready for testing.

Shots taken with the macro lens were quite impressive and if you decide to make your own, just find an old DVD/CD? player that’s lying around your home and hack it to bits to recover the lens in the drive section.

The Force is all around us. It flows around and through us. It is between us and that tree and the rock, around our sunken X-Wing, going through our wallet, tickling our armpits, and flowing between our ears. You think we’re joking, but the only way to guide the Force outside your body is to guide the Force inside your head. Yoda told us that once when we had stew over at his house. The stew was ok (if you like licking swamp creatures), but the advice was invaluable.

The system uses dry sensor technology and can detect alpha, beta, gamma and delta waves present in your brain. By focussing and concentrating you are able to control these different states and depending on how good you are at it you can force the ball to move up and down the tube. A special chip inside the headset calculates your concentration levels by using an algorithm and if you get it right you can control the ball.

Star Wars Force Trainer Features:

    * For ages 8 and up.
* Learn how to master the powers of the Force.
* Voice guided through 15 levels of Force training by Yoda!
* Star Wars sound effects confirm accomplishment and provide encouragement throughout your training.
* Includes an adjustable wireless headset, Jedi training tower w/ball and an informative learning guide.
* Base can also operate with an AC adapter (not included)
* Great fun for kids and adults of all ages!
* Batteries: 6 AA and 3 AAA (not included)
* Dimensions: 16.1″ x 14.2″ x 6.2″
* Please do not try to force levitate your little sister

Gizmodo say…

The single largest roadblock that prevents most people from picking up a PlayStation 3 is the price. Sony’s just taken that roadblock and shrunk it. You’re now $100 more likely to buy a PlayStation 3.

The review mentions that the PS3 you buy today is not the same you got when it first launched. Gradually bits and bobs have been removed such as the card reader, USB ports, backwards compatibility etc… so if you buy a PS3 now and have the last version then you are not loosing much more… just the Linux capabilities. The slim PS3 is obviously smaller, about 33% and likewise the power consumption has been decreased 34% giving you a smaller, lighter and more eco friendly console (as well as more quiet).

Features added include the ability to bitstream Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD audio which isn’t a benefit to all as most just use the standard TV speakers.

Looks wise it is now matte rather than the glossy look the larger unit has always sported. This doesn’t particularly take away anything as the other older console was riddled with fingerprints and dust all of which are almost gone on the new matte finish.

For the full review of the console and pics, check out Gizmodo.

The patent shows a football controller that is designed to assist in a “real-world” football experience. The problem with it is that to get the real-world experience you need to throw it, run in to things and generally have a rough time with the ball… somehow I can’t see this happening in a living room where a nice 42″ plasma screen sits.

Not sure if this is needed… maybe so… but I still think it’s rather dangerous and we could certainly be seeing more cracked TV’s when people accidentally let go of the controller.
