Lite-On have released the latest unit in their external DVD writer series. It is named the eTAU108 and is thinner than previous models.

The External DVD Writer weighs under 350 grams and connects to your netbook or laptop via USB cable.

The technical specs see this drive being capable of writing at 8x for DVD-R/+R as well as DVD+RW and slightly slower at 6x for DVD-R/+R dual layer disks. For DVD-RAM disks and CD-R/RW it’s 24x.

The external usb drive is available in either white or black and will cost $63 when launched next month.
